My top 5 movies about Pregnancy

Hollywood has seen it's fair share of pregnant ladies on the big screen. I sometimes imagine how a maternity photo session would go for them. Next, my top 5 movies about Pregnancy... (perhaps you can watch during one of those sleepless nights when your baby just won't let you fall asleep)

5. Father of the bride part II

Steve Martin at his best. Wonder what happens when mother and daughter get pregnant at the same time? Then don't miss this one. I lost count of how many "false alarms" where in this movie but it beat ours (we were "only" two false alarms).

4. Nine months

So... from a movie quality point of view this should show in no list. But from a top 5 movies about pregnancy point of view this is definitely a classic. No search you can conduct, no list you'll see where this one is not in there. Much like father of the bride there's a lot going on from the father point of view, and everytime Robin Williams shows on scene is just hilarious. My favorite when Samuel and Rebecca meet Dr. Kosevich. This was also Hugh Grant's first lead role in a US Movie.

3. What to expect when you're expecting

"Care bear, I'm sorry, all I want to do is punch you in the face".  This one is filled with an infinite amount of great one-liners. I love the baby lady meldown scene. And for the dads, it doesn't get more accurate than the "Dudes" Club. This could easily be #1 in this list.

2. Juno

5 favorite movies on pregnancy

Ok, I accept this is a depart from all the comedies in this list but it is really, just a very good movie. I mean this one got an oscar nomination for best picture in the same year as "No Country for Old Men", and "There Will be Blood". Oh, and it won an Oscar for best original screenplay. The film's soundrack was 20th Century Fox's first number one soundtrack since Titanic. A must see for sure.

1. Knocked up

Another one about unplanned pregnancy but with a much more comedic twist to it.  With Seth Rogen, Jonah Hill, et al., this one will be #1 in any husband's list for sure. It's also a good "feel-grateful-my-husbands-friends-aren't-like-this" movie. Just see what happens when Alison shows up to meet Ben's friends.

I promise you'll have a lot of fun watching these together with your couple as you prepare for the big event. Let me know what you think. Any other pregnancy movie you think we've missed? What about any you think should not be in this list? We'd love to hear your comments.

Watched them all and still can't sleep? Check out this infographic with my compilation of stats about sleeping during the final trimester. I bet you didn't know most of these (like how many women develop "restless leg syndrome?"). Check it out.
